At an October 31, 2024, rally in Henderson, Nevada, Donald Trump featured the family of Nicholas Quets, who joined Trump on stage to “honor their beautiful boy.” On October 18, 2024, alleged cartel members murdered 31-year-old Marine veteran Nicholas Quets from Tucson, Arizona, while driving from Arizona to Mexico’s Puerto Peñasco, also known as Rocky Point.

His father, Warren Quets, explained, “We don’t have beaches in Arizona, so plenty of people travel to Rocky Point and own homes there.” Quets was en route to the popular beach with friends when the incident occurred. While driving along the Caborca-Altar Highway in Sonora, their vehicle was ambushed by armed individuals. Reports indicate that Quets was shot in the back while attempting to evade the attackers.

Quets stated, “My son was headed less than an hour from his home,” A few weeks ago, he (Warren) was a completely apolitical actor; no one knew who he would have voted for. However, things changed for him after his son was “murdered by cowards.”

Standing next to Trump, Quets senior said that two weeks ago, when his son was killed, the State Department called to notify the family. He further explained that there was “no news initially in the papers” regarding his son’s death. The father said that he reached Representative Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ), who helped facilitate a meeting between the family and the Trump-Vance campaign.

Thirteen days after his son’s death, the father believes “his son is giving him the power to be up there.” The family noted that President Biden, Governor Tim Walz, and Vice President Kamala Harris have all visited or are planning to visit Arizona, yet none have contacted them.

Finally twelve days later, the family finally received a call from Senator Mark Kelly. The family stated they tried to attend a Walz rally last week, and “we were told it was full.” He attributed U.S. “policy” to his son’s and others’ deaths. The father stated that it wasn’t until Trump got involved that the media paid attention. He concluded by stating, “For anyone on the fence—former President Trump is a good man.”

Mexico confirmed that four individuals were apprehended in connection with the murder. Among them was a Honduran national and another suspect linked to the “Delta” gang, associated with the Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa cartel.

The Quets family were also honored guests of former President Trump at last week’s Trump rally in Tempe, AZ.

They said that when they first met Trump last week, “he had tears in his eyes” when he saw the photos of their son, Nicholas. The rally, which took place at Arizona State University’s Mullett Arena, was filled to its 5,000-person capacity.

Before former President Donald Trump’s speech in Tempe, Elysia Lopez, Gold Star mother of fallen Marine Corps Corporal Hunter Lopez, delivered a sober address honoring the 13 U.S. service members who lost their lives during the August 2021 Kabul airport attack amid the Afghanistan withdrawal. She attributed their deaths to the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the withdrawal, expressing deep frustration over Vice President Kamala Harris’s remark that she “wouldn’t have done anything different.”

In her speech, Lopez solemnly recited the names of all 13 fallen heroes, emphasizing the personal and national loss. She also recited the names of the three Americans killed in the drone attack in Jordan, two other service members killed in a joint Afghanistan raid, and the lives lost in America because of “open borders.” In total, Mrs. Lopez said, “Kamala, I have just named 24 deaths under your watch. How dare you say there is not one thing that comes to mind.”

Following Lopez’s remarks, Trump, flanked by border control agents, delivered his controversial “garbage can” analogy, referring to what he called the failures of the Biden Administration’s immigration policies.
