Merissa Hamilton, founder of EZAZ and Strong Communities, and Jeff Caldwell II, Maricopa County Recorder staffer and key operative in Justin Heap’s successful election campaign, wed in a politically themed private ceremony on President Trump’s aptly renamed “Gulf of America.”

The wedding brought together family, close friends, and prominent figures from Arizona’s conservative legal, political, and grassroots communities. Attorney Jen Wright served as Matron of Honor. Wright is well known in Arizona political and legal circles for her work in election-related litigation, including her role as former counsel for Abe Hamadeh. She has been a visible legal advocate in high-profile election disputes and has played a significant role in shaping post-election legal strategy and public discourse in Arizona.

Among the bridesmaids were Tatiana Peña, a former Latinos for Trump organizer who currently serves as a Moms for Liberty leader and a member of the Roosevelt School District Governing Board, and former Arizona State Senator Justine Wadsack. Wadsack, a well-known conservative voice at the Capitol during her tenure, was renowned for her outspoken advocacy on government accountability, parental rights, and election integrity issues.

Hamilton has been a central figure in grassroots political organizing in Arizona, particularly in election integrity efforts and community mobilization. Through EZAZ and Strong Communities, she has focused on voter education, civic engagement, and building networks to strengthen local participation in the political process.

Caldwell has worked behind the scenes in Arizona politics and played a significant role in Justin Heap’s campaign for Maricopa County Recorder. Heap’s campaign emphasized election administration reform, transparency, and the restoration of public confidence in Maricopa County’s elections, themes that have remained central to his tenure.

The coastal ceremony proved a fitting setting for the couple, whose professional paths have intersected with some of Arizona’s most closely watched political and legal debates in recent years. Hamilton’s dress featured the phrase “Taxation is theft — Fire Tyrants,” a slogan closely associated with her public advocacy.

The Arizona Globe extends its congratulations to Merissa Hamilton and Jeff Caldwell II and wishes the couple a happy and successful union.
