Yesterday, October 7, 2024, marks the one-year anniversary of the second-worst attack on world Jewry, overshadowed in horror only by The Holocaust. Although many Americans call it “Israel’s 9/11,” it was exponentially worse considering the sheer percentage of Israel’s population killed that day. Adding to the frustration of Israelis and Americans alike, some of the hostages taken by Hamas that day are still held, including several Americans, with family members unsure if they are dead or alive.

Arizona State Senator Frank Carroll (R-LD28) released a written statement yesterday honoring Israel and expressing support for America’s only true friend and ally in the region.

He wrote, “On this solemn day, my heart breaks for the Israelis who’ve suffered such horrifying acts of evil by Hamas and Iran, as well as for the hostages who are still enduring torturous conditions. Innocent lives have been brutally taken away, and sadly, the irresponsible policies of the Harris-Biden Administration have  only emboldened our enemies to desecrate these victims.”

His statement went on, “I continue to support Israel’s right to defend itself from violence, and I call on the Harris-Biden Administration to do everything in their power to ensure the American hostages who are still being held against their will today are released and brought back home immediately. We must stand united against this evil and support a permanent end to the war happening in the Middle East. I urge all Arizonans to speak out against the injustices our Jewish friends are experiencing and to condemn all antisemitic acts in the strongest sense. May the good Lord protect our world from the Iranian-directed terrorists who are attempting to spread death and destruction upon the innocent.”
