In the most recent Pulse Decision Science poll of Arizona Republican primary voters, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-CD5) has rocketed past Karrin Taylor Robson 55% to 36%, with 14% still undecided. With David Schweikert included (he has yet to declare his run formally), the numbers are even more stark: Biggs 48%, KTR 22%, Schweikert 11%, with 15% undecided. In all cases, the sample was 502 likely Republican voters with a MOE of 4.4%. The polling was conducted from September 8 to 10, 2025. The poll also presented a “what-if” scenario where KTR drops out. In that case, Biggs beats Schweikert 61% to 23% with 16% undecided.
Drew Sexton, a spokesperson for Biggs, responded to the polling, stating, “Congressman Andy Biggs enters August as the clear favorite in the GOP Primary Election and stands well-positioned as the strongest candidate to defeat Katie Hobbs in November 2026. He’s the only candidate to be endorsed by President Donald J. Trump and Charlie Kirk, the only candidate with an impeccable conservative voting record, and the only candidate with the governing experience at the state and federal level to provide strong leadership for Arizona from Day One.”
Congressman Eli Crane (R-CD2) also commented, saying, “I don’t know if you’ve ever spent much time with Biggs. But unlike a lot of America First fire-breathers that fire up the crowd, Biggs is kind of a happy warrior. He’s got friends everywhere, and it’s not to say that there are some people that you know are in opposition to him, but he doesn’t pick personal fights with people. He keeps everything professional.”
In an exclusive response to the Arizona Globe, AZ State Representative Nick Kupper (R-25) said, “I think the path is clear for a strong conservative like Congressman Biggs to become the next Governor of Arizona. What I would love to see is all of our candidates coalescing behind the most conservative candidate and focus all our energy on replacing Governor Hobbs with someone who will truly represent the values of Arizonans.” He was clear that he wasn’t endorsing any one candidate over another and that he will wholeheartedly support whichever Republican candidate wins the primary.
State Senator Wendy Rogers, an outspoken voice among Arizona Republicans, made her choice abundantly clear in an exclusive statement to the Globe. She said, “I resoundingly endorse Andy Biggs who has the maturity, intelligence, acumen, and wide breadth of experience to lead Arizona. We have many legislative bills that need to be signed after these years of ‘wandering in the desert’ under Hobbs. He will right the ship of state back on track for Arizonans. Can’t wait to see him elected.”
This latest polling strongly suggests that Biggs is the frontrunner in Arizona’s Republican gubernatorial primary. Republicans, and conservatives in particular, want to see the most conservative candidate who can defeat Governor Katie Hobbs win. With his current popularity, coupled with a reputation for kindness and interpersonal charm, Biggs is considered a formidable opponent to run against the liberal Hobbs.
