As President Donald Trump marks the first 100 days of his return to the White House, Republican lawmakers in Arizona are offering high praise for what they describe to the Arizona Globe as a historic and transformative start to his second term.
Representative Nick Kupper (R-25) highlighted the fulfillment of campaign promises and the economic resurgence under Trump’s early leadership. “Trump’s first 100 days have been marked by kept promises, low illegal border crossings and hundreds of billions in new investments for our nation. Americans elected him to another term so he could right the sinking ship that Biden left us and his actions have been exactly what we asked for. I’m looking forward to what’s in store for the rest of his term,” Kupper said.
Representative Alex Kolodin (R-3) emphasized Trump’s resolve to shrink the federal bureaucracy and return authority to the states and individuals. “President Trump came out of his four years of persecution with a new resolve to dismantle the bureaucracy that’s been choking our country and return power to the states and people. He has approached his first 100 days with boldness I never thought I’d see from an American president in my lifetime,” Kolodin stated.
Representative John Gillette (R-30) detailed the administration’s aggressive immigration and economic policies, calling them a “fierce America-first agenda.” “In his first 100 days, President Trump has unleashed a fierce America-first agenda, executing the largest mass deportation in history, expelling over 139,000 illegal immigrants, including criminals and terrorists, with a 655% surge in terrorist arrests. He’s obliterated Biden’s open-border policies, slashing illegal crossings by 95%, invoking the Alien Enemies Act to dismantle migrant crime networks, and designating cartels like MS-13 as terrorist organizations, ensuring our homeland is purged of threats.”
“Economically, Trump’s 145% tariffs on China have crushed the devalued Yuan, protecting American workers and sparking $1 trillion in U.S. investments. His policies prioritize American homes and manufacturing, rejecting globalist trade schemes and restoring economic sovereignty, proving he’s Making America Safe, Strong, and Great Again,” Gillette added.
Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen (R-LD14) also offered strong praise, describing Trump’s early record as “miraculous.” He added, “President Trump has accomplished more in 100 days than any President in memory has over their entire term. Just to name a few things he has closed the border, made the world safer, banned men from womens’ sports, unleashed energy, slashed regulations, ended wokeness in our universities, and is eliminating waste, fraud and abuse. His first 100 days are nothing less than miraculous.”
While Arizona Republicans celebrate, Democrats have reacted with fury, launching a flurry of lawsuits aimed at halting Trump’s executive actions, particularly those related to immigration enforcement and education policy. Meanwhile, national and local media outlets have amplified breathless warnings of a “constitutional crisis,” “authoritarian drift,” and “irreversible damage” to progressive reforms, offering nightly coverage filled with alarmism over Trump’s America First resurgence.
Despite the lawsuits and media outrage, Arizona Republicans remain unified, describing the first 100 days as a needed course correction to restore national sovereignty, economic independence, and traditional American values.
